Included in the JH Kelly work scope was the substructure work including site work, excavation, underground utilities and concrete. In addition, we self-performed the superstructure work including the structural steel and building erection, mechanical equipment erection, mechanical equipment installation, installation of a Mitsubishi M501G Power Island (gas and steam turbines), and the balance of plant piping fabrication and installations. Once completed, the Port Westward plant became the most efficient PGE natural gas-fired power plant and the most efficient power plant of its type in the Northwest.
