JH Kelly maintains an in-house engineering team with dedicated plumbing, mechanical, and electrical specialties. This capability allows us to lead the MEP design process when appropriate or collaborate with project design partners under design-build, design-assist, or progressive delivery methodologies. Regardless of delivery method, our team’s primary focus is to design and deliver systems that can be efficiently constructed, perform reliably, and deliver long-term value.

Our engineering team works hand-in-glove with our construction and service groups. Because of the relationship our engineering teams have with our internal teams responsible for off-site manufacturing, installation, commissioning, long-term maintenance, and service, our design decisions are informed by real-world experience. This integration allows us to identify practical design solutions that leverage our supply chain and fabrication capability early, incorporate long-term reliability information from our service and maintenance teams, reduce coordination issues with other trades, and ensure that system design is aligned with owner requirements.

Throughout design development, lessons learned from recently completed projects, supply chain team input, and service team feedback directly inform the equipment selections, system layouts, and control strategies we advance. We prioritize lifecycle cost, maintainability, and seamless integration with existing facility infrastructure, including Building Automation Systems.
