Project Description
This project was for the demolition of two existing buildings on a two acre site and construction of a new 22,600 sf food processing facility on the site. JH Kelly self-performed approximately 80% of this project and utilized in-house carpenters, laborers, operators, plumber/pipefitters, electricians, ironworkers, and millwrights to complete everything from site work to equipment setting. The metal building, clad in insulated metal panels (IMP), featured a lobby, office, breakroom, locker room, and laboratory space. Dedicated food processing spaces included raw material prep, weighing and storage, production cooking, curing, inner packaging, packaging, dry packaging storage, shipping and receiving, finished product storage, as well as four freezers and a refrigerator. Scopes of work included site preparation, form and pour of foundation and slab, steel erection, IMP installation, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting and finishes, installation of owner furnished equipment. Equipment installed included curing machine, spiral cooker, grill, spiral freezer, incline, decline, cooling, and curve/align conveyors, spiral packer, and numerous other small pieces of equipment. Exterior construction included site drainage, site electrical, lighting, concrete flatwork, asphalt, landscaping and irrigation.
