Our project controls ecosystem connects every function of project delivery, from budget adherence to field productivity, through integrated platforms and real-time data.
Integrated Systems Built for Real-Time Transparency and Accountability
JH Kelly’s controls ecosystem provides our project teams and project stakeholders with real-time visibility, accountability, and confidence throughout every phase of project execution. Our systems facilitate a seamless connection between accounting, project management, project documentation, and reporting platforms and provide real-time cost tracking, forecasting, and resource allocation functionality. Enterprise and project-level dashboards aggregate data from all platforms and provide intuitive, up-to-date insights into cost, schedule, and productivity metrics.
Key Project Controls Functions:
- Real-Time Cost Tracking & Forecasting: Baseline budgets in our accounting software, Vista, form the basis for cost tracking and forecasting throughout project execution.
- Productivity Tracking: Using inputs from our baseline budget in our accounting system and actual labor hours and installed quantities in our proprietary project management platform, ProjectM, we track planned versus actual performance in real-time.
- Change Management: ProjectM also facilitates change documentation, costs, and tracking, ensuring that all project stakeholders have a clear record and understanding of their impact on scope, schedule, and budget.
- Project Documentation: We use Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) for internal project document management. ProjectM is directly integrated to the platform through API. We are also well-versed in integrating directly with client and GC-preferred platforms and do so regularly.
- Daily Construction Reporting: We also utilize ACC for Daily Construction Reporting (DCRs), ensuring that we are able to readily and accurately assess daily progress and document activities performed at the site.
- Scheduling: We primarily utilize Microsoft Project and Oracle’s P6 platform to build and update our scope-specific or project-level construction schedules. Check out our scheduling page for more detail on how we develop and maintain schedules and ensure schedule conformance throughout the construction phase.
- Procurement: We utilize Remarcable to manage both project-level procurement and tool and equipment utilization across our projects. Managed by our Supply Chain and Field Support Teams, Remarcable provides a readily-accessible and easy interface to ensure our field teams have what they need when they need it on our projects. See our Supply Chain page for more on this.
- Fabrication & Workflow Management: We use Stratus to provide an end-to-end management and statusing of our process from detailing through fabrication, installation, and turnover. Take a look at our Stratus page for additional detail.
- Client-Facing Reporting: As an extension of our commitment to transparency and communication, we work with our clients to develop the cadence and content of project level reporting at the outset of the project. Typically, this includes monthly progress summaries, schedule updates, productivity reporting, and cost forecasting, but can be tailored to include as much or as little detail as project stakeholders require. This reporting is provided in addition to client-facing views in Stratus that provide real-time statusing of fabrication, delivery, installation, and turnover progress.
This infrastructure is our typical basis for controlling and reporting on project delivery. However, we have worked with numerous client-preferred platforms and our project teams are well-versed in providing reporting through those channels as well.
