Project Description
JH Kelly acted as the design-build mechanical contractor on this project to build a new 12-story complex featuring 600,000 sf of classrooms, lecture halls, and laboratories for research and teaching, including medical simulation laboratories for high-tech, team-based learning. The facility was designed around a concept of “health science on display” and meant to incorporate spaces for both health sciences and research within one interdisciplinary facility. It received LEED Platinum certification, and was named one of the 2015 Top Ten Green buildings by the American Institute of Architects’ Committee on the Environment.
The project included:

• 24.5 miles of above ground plumbing piping
• 900 plumbing fixtures
• 19 individual plumbing systems.
• 2,490 lab gas/med gas outlets.
• 30,000 concrete inserts
