Project Description
JH Kelly completed this large upgrade to the chip pulping capability at Clearwater Paper’s Lewiston mill and installation of a new continuous digester. JH Kelly craft self-performed civil, structural, mechanical and electrical scopes on Clearwater’s LPOP Modernization Project. The project primarily consisted of the installation of a new 1,000 ton high density tower and support systems and the installation and commissioning of all equipment for:
• New continuous digester process (inclusive of a high angle conveyor, impregnation bin, PD washer, and Blastank)
• New polysulfide generating plant
• New pressurized EOP upflow tower
• Dirty white liquor and ultraclean white liquor tanks
• Mixer equipment
• Balance of Plant (BOP) utilities and connections
