Pre-Installation of Platforms and Process Piping Prior to Column Erection Reactor Installation Using Jack Up Rigging Frames

JH Kelly performed the Inside Battery Limits (ISBL) and the Outside Battery Limits (OSBL) work scopes for a new Sulphur Recovery Unit (SRU) at the Shell Puget Sound Refinery in Anacortes, Washington. As the prime contractor for the mechanical portion of the project, JH Kelly's self-perform work scope included structural steel, ASME code work, boiler, mechanical piping and instrumentation.

Working within JH Kelly's Injury Free Environment Program and the site's Behaviorial Based Safety Program, JH Kelly performed in excess of 125,000 work hours with 1 recordable injury.

JH Kelly installed over 300 tons of steel, 84 equipment sets and 45,000 lineal feet of pipe.

Black & Veatch provided detailed engineering for the ISBL scope and VECO provided detailed engineering for the OSBL together with Black & Veatch. The project began in January 2004 and was completed in Fall 2004.
