SolarWorld Solar Silicon Plant

The SolarWorld facility is located at the former Komatsu Plant Facility in Hillsboro, Oregon. JH Kelly's scope of work on this site includes the construction of the following projects: new Central Utilities Building (CUB), K4 Grower Hall Platforms and Pedestals, and the K3 Steel Substructure. The fabrication facility in Longview, Washington supported field construction with larger welds and fabrications.

JH Kelly self-performed the following services:
• Steel erection & rigging
• Civil/concrete form work
• Process pipe installation
• Pipe fabrication (Longview fabrication shop)
• Equipment setting

The plant will eventually reach a capacity of 500MW making it the largest solar factory in North America. 

Construction began in December 2007 and was completed in October 2008.
