Kari graduated from WSU with a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources & Personnel Management and has spent the last 18 years in HR working in a variety of fields including Fred Meyer’s Corporate HR Team where she managed recruitment and selection programs for 130 stores and their internship program.

Pulp and paper manufacturing brought her back to Cowlitz County where she worked as an Employment Specialist supporting an acquisition, Mill Operations & the Container Division. She then moved into Staffing where she managed a large client base of manufacturing & industrial clients for five years with Express Employment Professionals. Her love for manufacturing led her to become the HR Manager for G. Loomis (fishing rod manufacturer) until she had the opportunity to join JHK. Along the way she’s learned that it’s the employees who are the true heartbeat of a company and that there is always an equitable solution to even the toughest situations when we stay true to our core values, and foster a culture where employees feel welcome, important, and appreciated.

Kari and her husband Rich have two sons; Easton (14) and Bennett (7) who keep her very busy, spending most weeknights & weekends at the gym or on the baseball diamond. She is a local native to Toutle. In her “free” time she enjoys her horses and spending sunny days boating on the local lakes.
