LONGVIEW, WA – December 1, 2005 -- JH Kelly, LLC announced today that the Shell Puget Sound Refinery Sulfur Recovery Unit No. 4 Project received the Northwest Construction Consumer Council (NWCCC) Distinguished Project Award for Private Projects Over $10MM. JH Kelly was the Constructor and Key Subcontractor for the project providing the structural steel erection, boilermaker services, equipment setting, piping installation and small bore pipe fabrication work scopes.
The team, led by the Shell Puget Sound Refinery Major Projects Department, also included engineers VECO USA, Inc. and Black & Veatch; civil contractor TIC; and electrical contractor Seven Sisters.
Criteria for evaluating Distinguished Project Award submissions includes safety record, meeting goals and objectives, successful front-end loading, meeting cost and schedule milestones, team contributions and unique features. Judges included representatives from owners, design engineering, construction and consultants.
The NWCCC is the only organization focusing on owners’ needs in the design and construction of capital facilities. The Council provides a regional forum to explore best practices in cost-effective design and construction and is committed to providing an owners’ forum for information, education and professional networking among construction professionals.
