JH Kelly was the Design/Build contractor on this project to expand the existing Pocatello Great Western Malting facility in Pocatello, Idaho from 100,000 tons to 220,000 tons. The project included the construction of a 16-vessel steep house, a four-vessel germination structure, a kiln structure housing a 120' diameter kiln vessel, malt storage tanks, and an analysis structure. Additionally, construction included multiple plenum structures, towers, bridges, galleries, conveyors, utility and office buildings, reservoirs, water conditioning facilities, and stormwater collection and treatment facilities. JH Kelly self-performed the vast majority of the scope of work on this project.
Our scope included civil, structural, mechanical, electrical work scopes. We installed 15,000 cubic yards of concrete, 1,200 tons of steel, 18 stainless steel tanks, 55,000 lineal feet of piping, 350,000 direct craft hours and reached a peak of 325 craft.
