Mint Farm Energy Center
LONGVIEW, WAJH Kelly was the general contractor for a 311MW natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant in Longview, Washington. New owner, Wayzata Investment Partners, acquired the partially completed facility in a bankruptcy sale. The project was approximately 50% complete when mothballed in 2001. The plant was completed in Fall 2007.
JH Kelly’s work scope included:
- Developed a complete Material Inventory for materials and equipment procured by prior owner/contractor
- Completion of civil/structural (Pipe racks, stair towers, Gas Compressor Pad, etc.)
- Erect Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG)
- Installed roughly 20,000 LF of large bore pipe
- Installed roughly 2,000 LF of P91 pipe
- Installed roughly 6,000 LF of small bore pipe
- Managed and coordinated multiple subcontractors including plant electrical, switchyard electrical, pipe insulation, painting, post weld heat treatment, relay testing and programming, and boiler chemical treatment
- Installed steam turbine generator and enclosure
- Installed 60” cooling water lines
- Installed and calibrated roughly 500 instruments
- Installed complete gas compressor station
