 Project Profile Mirabella Portland, OR JH Kelly was hired to provide the mechanical and plumbing services on a new tower in the South Waterfront area. The project was designed to be a continuous care retirement facility,consisting of a single story underground garage, with a mezzanine storage level. Some unique features of the parking garage are the hydraulic “car stackers” that provide additional parking spaces, a wood shop, kitchen prep area, and commercial laundry facilities. The above grade structure consists of a 30 story mixed use tower development. The tower houses two restaurants, a swimming pool and spa, two beauty salons, as well as 41 special care nursing units, and nurses' facilities. The balance of the tower consists of 224 independent living units. The overall building is 514,060 square feet.
JH Kelly’s scope consisted of design assist underground and above ground plumbing systems, HVAC (wet and dry), HVAC controls, water and air balancing, commissioning and start-up assistance.
JH Kelly also provided owner training on all building systems. The project began in April 2008 and was completed in September 2010. It received LEED Platinum certification. Special points of interest: - 303 units plus retail space
