Georgia-Pacific Lithium Converting Project
Halsey, OR

Installation of New Concrete Foundations

JH Kelly performed the civil and structural scopes for a lithium conversion building at Georgia-Pacific's Halsey mill.

Civil work began in mid-2007 and consisted of approximately 12,500 square feet of general earth work; 5,680 cubic yards of excavated materials; 738,845 pounds of installed rebar; 3,121 cubic yards of concrete installed; 65,000 square feet of asphalt installed; and 1,400 lineal feet of fencing installed.  This portion had a three-month duration.

Following completion of  the base scope of  work, JH Kelly was selected to provide support and punchlist work for the project through completion - an additional seven-month duration. The support work included erection of structural steel and concrete slab-on-deck for an equipment mezzanine, installation of bollards, seismic support upgrades, and miscellaneous piping and site improvements as directed by the facilities managers to improve reliability and function of the new tissue line.
