Project ProfileWeyerhaeuser Company Calendar Project Longview, WA
JH Kelly's work scope started with the demolition of an existing room and installing CMU walls for a hydraulic room. A raised floor was installed to allow any oil spills below the grating to be pumped out with a sump pump. Power was brought in from nearby MCCs and large transformers were installed. Eight skids with Voith-supplied equipment were installed. Piping was installed under the floor, commissioned and flushed prior to a shutdown. The concrete pour and placement of Nipcoflex sole plates was done while the machine was in operation. During the shutdown, the Sixth Section wet- and dry- end calendars were demolitioned and extensive floor work was performed for the Ecosoft sole plates and pit area. Existing soles were drilled for pedestals and new 11 felt rolls installed. A new Ecosoft calendar section was installed along with a new Nipcoflex and Tokuden roll, tail threader, machine piping, drive sections and platforms/walkways. The shutdown duration was nine days with 24-hour shifts of 45 men per shift. The project was completed as scheduled and within budget. Special points of interest: - Nine-day shutdown
- Ecosoft Calendar section
