Imperium Renewables Biodiesel Plant
Aberdeen, WA

Storage and Pipe Racks Installation of Process Column with Piping and Instrumentation

Imperium Renewables (formerly Seattle Biodiesel) selected JH Kelly to construct it's first 100 million gallon per year biodiesel production plant in Aberdeen, Washington. The plant, completed in August 2007, is the largest biodiesel production facility in the United States. Imperium has succesfully operated Seattle Biodiesel, a five million gallon per year plant in the Industrial Area of Seattle since April 2005, having developed their own proprietary process for refining biodiesel. JH Kelly broke ground on the project late summer 2006, starting with the tank farm area. The tank farm has roughly 16 million gallons of fuel storage capacity.

Special points of interest:
  • 100 million gallons per year production capacity
  • Largest biodiesel plant in the United States
  • Completed in August 2007

JH Kelly is a 4th generation family-owned construction company serving the greater Pacific Northwest. We function as a self-performing industrial general contractor at process facilities. Our reputation for completing difficult process piping jobs is well known throughout the region and our success has led us to offer 3rd party services as a piping fabricator or module fabricator. Our integrated project approach includes self-performing concrete placement, functioning as a steel erector and providing equipment setting, millwrighting, and electrical services. For commercial HVAC projects, we can be found under tower cranes providing trade services as a plumbing contractor or mechanical contractor on a subcontracted basis.
