 Project Profile
ConocoPhillips SRU Modules Ferndale, WA
JH Kelly was awarded a subcontract to produce 16 modules for a new sulfur reduction unit for the ConocoPhillips Ferndale refinery. This contract was with ENGlobal Engineering, the technology and equipment provider at the refinery. The driving force for this pre-fabrication/module effort was a very tight installation window due to the final installation placement within an operating refinery plus a very restricted footprint with lack of work and staging space. JH Kelly was able to pre-fabricate all the piping spools then perform the complete structural steel assembly, equipment and piping installation in our 40,000 square foot module assembly building. We were able to accomodate several substantial modules (over 120,000 pounds total weight) for assembly and loadout with our two overhead 50-ton cranes. The total module construction effort included structural steel assembly, piping, instrumentation and electrical and was completed within a six- month construction schedule. Special points of interest: - 1,705 pipe spools; 23,871 diameter inches of pipe fabricated; 11,852 socket weld joints
- Carbon steel and stainless pipe spools
- 120 tons of structural steel assembled
- Refinery specifications
