KELLY AWARDED CHS REFINERY CLEAN FUELS PROJECT
HOUSTON, TX -- January 13, 2004
-- JH Kelly, LLC
was awarded the next phase of construction for the Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Clean
Fuels Project at the CHS Refinery in Laurel, Montana. JH Kelly has been working
at the refinery since last August when the underground and foundation portion of
the project began. With the underground phase finishing this week, the next
phase was awarded with construction to continue next month. The next phase
includes the structural steel piperack; compressor building erection, including
overhead bridge
crane / setting of compressor; and erection of a reactor access platform
structure.
“A fine
team has been put together including CHS, Stone & Webster, and JH Kelly. I
expect nothing short of another safe and successful project”, said John Price,
CHS Refinery project manager. “We are very proud of the work that our staff and
crews have completed to date, and are pleased to be able to continue working at
the CHS refinery,” said Dave Senko, JH Kelly vice president.
JH Kelly
recently completed construction of the Low Sulfur Mogas Clean Fuels Project for
the ExxonMobil Refinery in Billings, Montana. On that project, JH Kelly worked
for about a year with peak manpower at over 250 while incurring no OSHA
recordable injuries. “We worked another year in the Billings area executing
significant refinery work – all with no recordable incidents. The safety
performance and workmanship provided by the local building trades’ craftsmen has
been excellent. For the ExxonMobil project, we will submit and expect to win a
national award for our safety performance there: and we expect to continue that
same level of performance into 2004,” added Senko.
