JH Kelly Wins Oregon AGC Safety Award

Recently, JH Kelly was awarded the AGC Oregon Columbia Chapter, Recognition of Safety Excellence (ROSE) award. This award recognizes the chapter leaders in safety excellence.

Eighteen other contractors competed for the ROSE Award. Key components of our behavior-based safety culture(IFE) (management commitment, active employee participation, safety training, work site hazard identification and control, and safety program innovations) were integral in winning the award.

Some examples of how we differed from the competition include:

  • Implementation of IFE
  • The management commitment to giving IFE presentations and helping in our orientation process.
  • Employee participation through our company safety committee and site safety committees
  • A thorough curriculum with the School of Construction and site safety training
  • Emphasis on Pre-Task-Planning (PTP)

JH Kelly will officially receive the award on January 17th.
